The NSBE Aachen chapter successfully participated in the 2010 Consulting Design Olympiad (CDO) that was held during the 36th National Convention of the NSBE in Toronto, Canada from the 31st of March to the 4th April 2010. This was the third time the event has been organised. The CDO was launched by the International Committee of the NSBE as a way of encouraging students to get involved in finding solutions to global engineering problems. The first event was held at the 2008 National Convention in Orlando, Florida. NSBE Aachen also participated in this event. Last year, NSBE Aachen together with Pennsylvania State University Main Campus Chapter of the NSBE won the first Prize! On behalf of the entire membership of the NSBE Aachen chapter, we like to take this opportunity to congratulate the members who took part in the CDO competition and made NSBE Aachen proud. Members of NSBE-Aachen Chapter are currently at the heart of their presentations on Research Initiative. In the last chapter meeting two members James Willie and Charlie presented some beautiful work on standing challenges on energy efficiency and energy better said how crude oil is obtained depending on the physical conditions hindering this process. NSBE Germany at the National Convention 2008 |

 NSBE Germany participated in the Consulting Design Olympiad (CDO) at the last National Convention in Orlando, Florida and secured the second place with just a point difference from the first place. The next National Convention is due to take place in Las Vegas. There shall also be a CDO competition to take place and of course, NSBE Germany will be participating again. Please, visit www.nsbe.org to learn more about the National Convention and the CDO. If you feel you have challenging ideas on how to help third world countries develop, you are highly welcome to participate. There is also an ongoing workshop planned for the convention.There is an ongoing Research Initiative going on at the moment. One of the must challenging topic shall be picked up for next CDO due to take place in March. Why not turn up and follow or bring up ideas. May be your presentation could be picked up.
